In such a scenario, it is very heartening to see a significantly big piece of land in Mulund dedicated to a traditionally landscaped garden with a lot of planned greenery and children’s play area. The name of the garden is Deshmukh Udyan. It’s five minutes walk from Mulund East station on Mahatma Phule Road. Open for 4-5 hours in the morning and evenings, the garden is popular among people living in and around Mulund. While it can get extremely crowded on weekends, it lends itself to a serene walk on the tracks during early mornings. During non monsoon season, one can also enjoy a horse ride which is a luxury this side of the city. The garden used to have a lot of musical fountains but poor maintenance and water shortage seem to have resulted in discontinuing this practice. All in all, a great place to lock yourself up and be away from the mad rush.
